Influenza Epidemic 1918 – Thursday November 8 at 10 am.

In 1918, hundreds of people in Allegany County died from the Spanish Flu. The flu was a pandemic that killed about 3 percent of the world’s population in less than a year. Author James Rada, Jr. will tell the story of the flu’s progress through the county, and how officials and residents tried to fight it.

This presentation will be given at the Allegany College of Maryland at 10am in the Continuing Education Building, the first building on the right as you enter the campus.
